Happy Fall??

Here is a banner Robyn made to celebrate fall. Mom had a Halloween banner across the fireplace, but we wanted to make one so it could stay up all season. I add the question marks because we are supposed to get a wicked storm this weekend. It's supposed to be up to a foot of snow. We wanted to leave before the snow!! At least the walkway is nicely done- shoveling that will be slightly easier. Now we have to work on the driveway. Maybe I can get my yearly shoveling done before December... Enough rambling. Here is the banner. It might be a little tough to see. The window's glare doesn't help too much. The two circles on the end have little owls on them. Why owls? Why not?! I think the blue adds a rather nice touch to it. Who knew blue would be considered a fall color?!

"Witching" you a Happy Halloween!!

Halloween is only a few days away, so here is another card we made. This is a spinner card that took a lot longer to make than it probably should have! We were finishing them up right until we sent them out. This is probably my favorite card we've made so far, actually. Until the next cute one...
The little witch starts out as a cutie, all dressed to go trick-or-treating. Each time, she gets a little more witch-y.
The first face wasn't quite different enough, and I'm not sure if you can tell by the picture, but the second has a slightly larger nose and a little wart on her nose.

This one has an even larger nose and her face is slightly green. Maybe it's because of what she's cooking up in that cauldron of hers...
This is the final phase of her transformation. She looks pretty evil, doesn't she?! ;) She's obviously not a very mean witch!
There are some more Halloween projects we are working on, but since they're not done yet, we'll post them when they're finished!!

Halloween Treat Boxes

Here is another project we worked on. These are little boxes that we re-purposed. Add some glittery paper and stickers, and it turns out so much cuter than before! They were designed based on a piece of scrapbooking paper. The white one was the first one, which looked more like the paper. I liked it because it had a "chic" look to it, to me, at least! It only seemed fitting to put it front of the witch's hat for the picture. The second was supposed to be a "more fun" version of it. After decorating them, we added some candies and sent them off!
We really enjoyed working on these. They are so much fun to make, and it's a great way to use up our empty boxes!!

Halloween Projects

We spent the day working on some Halloween projects. The morning was spent making some chocolates with Mom. She's pretty good at it- somehow she knows all of the secrets. We were afraid that the morning would use up all of our "productive" time, but pushed through. We finished some fall cards up, including two new Halloween cards, and started another Christmas present. The present is going to be so cute- I'm a little jealous!! I want to make one for myself!! Anyway, here are the two Halloween cards we worked on today!! I think the second one needs some tweaking. I'm not totally happy with how it came out.
I saw this little guy and wanted to use him on something!! I don't want to give too much away...

I like the idea of this one- how it looks somewhat "classy", yet fun at the same time. I don't know if you can tell, but the middle square pops out a little, too!

Baby's First Year Album, Part III

This is the last post for the baby album we made. The last two days show the other pages in the album. This post shows June through September, and the last page. This was such a fun project to work on. I hope it lasts a long time and will hold tons of memories for the family!!

This is the June page. The little baby is all ready for a swim on a hot day. He has his little floatie on- safety first! He is also in the shallow end, so no worries! The water is textured, but the picture doesn't show it. There is also a chair, to relax in.

This July page is one of my favorites. The baby is all ready for his Fourth of July festivities. He's dressed in his patriotic best to watch the fireworks! The picture spot is all decorated with bunting, too!

August has the baby spending the day at the beach. He's looking good in his little diaper and sunglasses.  There is also a huge sandcastle that he was working on! As long as a beach ball doesn't knock down the castle!!

This is the last month in the book. So, the baby isn't quite ready to go to school, but is ready to learn! There is a pile of books on the corner, and an apple. The page also has a bunch of crayons, as long as there is no coloring on the walls! I must admit, this page made me nervous at first, but I love how it came out!
The next page, which isn't shown, is a double-page of hand-prints. We included a spot for each month, so the parents can take a print and see how the baby grows over the year.

This is the last page of the album. It has a spot for a picture from the baby's first birthday and some journaling about the last year.

Baby's First Year Album, Part II

This is a continuation of yesterday's post. This post goes up to May, so there will be one more tomorrow. Enjoy!
This is the January page. It gives me chills just looking at it! The baby is in all his warm clothes. There is a little snowman dancing in the corner, ready to play. There are a few snowflakes falling to the ground, too.

February's page has baby Cupid, with his golden arrow, looking for some love. The bigger heart in the corner is a box of chocoaltes, but it's kind of hard to tell by the picture. In the other corner, there is a flourish, surrounded by some hearts. The green spot on the last day is a little frog, since 2012 is a leap year. The pages are all a-flutter with hearts, too!

The March page has all the luck of the Irish. The baby is in his little leprechaun outfit, ready to spread some luck. There is a pot of gold, which has a little gleam to it. There is also a rainbow coming from behind the picture frame. Like they say, there's a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow! And apparently the lucky leprechaun isn't too far away!!

The April page features a cute little bunny or two. The little baby is has found his basket of goodies, and has gotten into the chocolate bunny! (I don't know if you can tell, but a bite was taken out of his ear.) From the picture, it looks like there is a white spot in the bottom right hand corner. It is actually a little bunny running away before being caught!

This is the last page for the day. This is May's page. The little baby is all set to catch some butterflies. The page is covered in little butterflies, but they are kind of hard to see, especially the yellow ones, so it looks like there are only a few on there. There is also a little pot of flowers in the corner, because everyone knows that April showers bring May flowers!!

Baby's First Year Album

This is the album we made for our cousins. It is a scrapbook that they can fill in with pictures and notes, for events that over the year. Since there are quite a few pages, we'll post a few at a time, over the next few days. Each page has generally the same set-up. The left side of the page has the month and a baby in a "matching" out fit. There is a spot for a picture and some spaces for journaling. The right side is a calendar, to write down little tid-bits that happen during the month.
The first page is title "My First Year", which is pretty obvious, I guess. The four little yellow rectangles are for the parents to write down the baby's birthday, weight, time, and length. It was all labeled, but not when the picture was taken.

Since the baby was born in October, it would only make sense to start with October. This page is decorated with some bats, spider webs, and a cauldron of slime. The little baby is all set for Trick-or-Treating in his little jack-o-lantern costume.

This page has the little baby in his Thanksgiving best. The turkey in the corner is just too cute to have for dinner! In the spirit of the season, there are leavings falling around the page. In the corner of the other page, the paper says "Happy Thanksgiving".

The last page on this post is for December. I don't think the picture does it justice. The baby is dressed in his elf outfit, ready to help the Big Guy during the holidays. The spot for the picture is bordered by some presents. There are some poinsettia and holly around the page, with gold sparkle accents.

New Grandparents

As we wrote yesterday, our cousin had a little baby boy. This is the card we made for our aunt and uncle, congratulating them on their new grandson. They're first-time grandparents. However, they are not very "grandparent-ish" quite yet- I don't know how happy they'll be when they see all the gray hair on the card!!

Welcome Baby!

Yesterday, we were lucky enough to have another addition to our family. Our cousin had a little baby boy. He is absolutely adorable and such a good-looking baby! He's going to have some trouble with the girls!! This is his "Welcome to the Family" card. We also made him a scrapbook, which we'll post over the next few days. Congratulations!!

World Card Making Day

We were planning on heading up to Vermont this weekend, but our plans changed a little. Which is perfectly fine because we spent the day making some cards to sell. We made four different cards, with the one below being an example. This is our "classy" Halloween card. There's nothing written inside, yet, though. There are other cards, but we haven't taken pictures yet. We'll post some more later this week.
