Oooh, Spooky!

Today's post is a fun little project that will definitely add some spook to your rooms. These floating candles are a fun and festive way to add a little bit of a scare factor into your Halloween decorations. They started out as cut up paper towel rolls, with hot glue dripped around the top edge to look like wax.

After the glue dries, spray paint the inside and outside of your candles with white spray paint. It took 5-6 coats to get even coverage all over, since the paint on the glued spots ran a little.

When the paint has fully dried, poke holes to string translucent thread or string through. (Because of the flash on the camera, you can see it in the picture, but not normally. I used clear jewelery wire.) I took some leftover styrofoam and trimmed it into pieces that would fit snugly inside the tubes. Put your battery-operated tealights on top of the styrofoam. Hang from a light fixture, or in front of a window, or wherever!

Here's a close-up of one of the floating candles.

Thanks for stopping by!
